A Cape Conversion: Pastels & Plaids

BEHOLD – my absolutely gorgeous new Warehouse cape coat! I’ve always been a bit unsure when it comes to fashion capes – some can end up swamping an outfit completely, whilst others merely look like a draped blanket. However, I saw this Warehouse cape in town and I fell in love. It’s B-E-A-UUUTIFUL.

For today’s outfit, I paired my new cape (think Catwalk, not Cat Woman) with a cream Topshop high neck vest, a black leather Warehouse skirt, matching black New Look wedge heels and a little pastel Topshop number for my bag.

Capes are ideal for smartening up a casual look – add them to jeans, a top and a tote for a classy shopping outfit, pair them with jumpers & trousers for a sleek work look, and sling them over skirts for some sassy style. They’re fab for autumn too, because they’re thick enough to keep you warm without needing a chunky coat.

I can’t deny it – I’m officially a cape convert!

I really love the colour pairings of the pastel Topshop bag & the plaid pattern of the cape.

I love this Warehouse skirt – it’s so cute! Plus. it’s easily versatile for work attire too – simply add a shirt & tights for a more formal look.

For the accessories – holla at me Topshop.

Hope you’ve enjoyed today’s look. Let me know what ya’ll think below! xo
