Summer is (mournfully) just about over, which means it’s time for AW2014 and a brand new season of style. No more floral dresses, vests and denim shorts. Instead, scarves, jeans, chunky knit cardigans and of course, Autumn season bags, are upon us.
There’s a lot of tan leather, pastels, and metallic shades for this season’s bag collections. Two tone colours are also back, along with the city bag revival.
Here are some of my personal favourites from ASOS, Zara, River Island, Nasty Gal and Ted Baker at the moment. A bag, in my opinion, is one of the best and important accessories we can have for an outfit. It says a lot about you – whether it’s a kitchen sink or a Taylor Swift-ian tiny tote.
So, with a new season of style at our feet, here are some of my eight favourite bags on the high street.
1. Fiorelli Roxy Bag – ASOS
I’ve been hunting for a tan leather bag for AGEEES – and I love this ASOS one. Like Goldilocks’ porridge, it’s just right. Not too big, not too small. The colour will go perfectly with jeans, but also will pair well with a smarter work outfit.
At £65.00, it isn’t cheap but it’s also made of quality material that will last. A good bag should be durable – and this design manages it without looking mumsy.
2. Metal Plate Day Bag – ASOS
This ASOS bag is a working girl’s two-toned little piece of heaven. It’s serious enough to fit in well amongst meetings, deadlines and clients – but it’s also friendly, stylish and at £38.00, affordable. It’s big enough to carry folders, diaries and (if you’re anything like me) numerous snacks.
I love the pairing of the pink and black – match it with a cream skirt and pastel pink top for a more casual look too.
3. Nasty Gal – Mixed Feelings Clutch
How fun is this clutch bag?! It’s adorable. This Nasty Gal bag is £29.99, and ideal for an evening look.
Make a statement with your accessories – don’t be afraid to be quirky. Though perhaps don’t take this design on a first date…
4. Croc ‘n Roll – Nasty Gal
This was my favourite bag that I saw whilst on my internet safari for today’s blog post. Its material is incredible – and I love both the shape and size of this bag. For £29.99, it’s worth the money. More importantly, I love that name. Badass marketing.
5. White Snake Leather Winged Satchel – River Island
I really liked the winged design of this bag, and the elegant blue and white colour combo. Vibrant and versatile, it’s a great pick for a new season bag and currently selling at £75.00. Pair it with high waisted jeans and a blazer for a smart and sassy look.
6. Aveline Leather Tote Bag – Ted Baker
No bag wish list could be complete without a Ted Baker addition! I’m loving TB’s new collection, and this one in particular. At £179.00, it’s an investment – but worth making. I love the polished look of a Ted Baker bag, and the bow detail creates a gorgeous look that’s ideal for a fun office outfit or a daywear look. Adore.
7. Leather Bucket Bag – Zara
Am I the only one who feels they could spend hours drooling over the selection of bags on Zara’s website? So. much. beauty. Be as cute as a bucket with this one.
I love the design of this pastel pink bucket bag, priced at £49.99. It’s classy, it’s stylish and I love the overall minimalistic look of the bag. Ideal for a new season buy for looking to find something sleek.
8. Office City Bag – Zara
If you love Zara and shop there a lot, you’ll probably recognise the design of this city bag. The brand had the same design in different colours for SS14 – and it obviously did well enough to be renovated into an Autumn-esque style. I love the bag – my old housemate bought one in navy and my other friend has one in red. So I’m not surprised it’s now in even more colours!
This bag is £49.99, and it means business. It’s black, bold and fantastic worthy of a city outfit. It’s also great for anyone looking for a more serious University bag – or even just a minimal daywear accessory. I love it.
Hope you’ve enjoyed!
