Today’s Makeup: Bronze, Black & White

For today’s look, I decided to use a mixture of gold/bronze tones in contrast with the crisp whiteness of a Topshop jumper. You’d never guess that two hours previously, I was sweating my guts out at a karate training session! (A mascara and mercy free zone). The power of makeup never fails to amaze me πŸ˜›

To begin with, I used Rimmel concealer to mask the blemishes on my skin and hide the marks under and around my eyes. I then used Olay Essentials BB cream (aka tinted moisturiser) to apply a light base to my skin. I think it’s SO important to prep your skin before any makeup (especially after sport) so I always use make up remover/normal moisturiser before starting. It makes everything look so much fresher! After the BB cream, I then used a little bit of EstΓ©e Lauder double wear foundation to even up my skin tone and create a really clear finish.

Next, I added a hint of Bourjois Paris cream blusher in Rose ThΓ© at the top of my cheeks. It’s a really bright blusher, so you don’t need very much at all to create a lasting effect.Β Image

For my eyes, I used a combination of beige shadow and then gold/bronze powder in the edges of my eyelids. I then added brown pencil in the corners of each eye, and layered black liquid eyeliner above the lid, creating flicks that elongate the eye and make them appear larger. I think blue and gold works great together – it really makes my eyes stand out in the light!

Finally, I finished off the gold/white contrast with this Forever21 necklace and a bit of simple Carmex lip balm – keeping all of the colour focused on my eyes! (sorry for the slight smudging on these photos!)
