With all of this beautiful warm weather, I thought it was about time I wrote a summer fashion inspired post. Summer (when the weather is behaving) is the perfect time for shorts, skirts and dresses. Alas, it also means we have to dedicate most of our evenings to the gym… but regardless, summer weather gives so many opportunities to wear plenty of colour and pattern.
Keep it simple without too many layers – nobody wants to swelter for the sake of a matching cardigan. Here are several outfit designs I put together for some summer styles.
1. Daytime Casual
For this look, I chose a bright statement top – it stands out, it’s stylish and it’s perfect for hot and bright days. Simple makeup to prevent a clash with the green leaves, and a pair of boyfriend jeans, white sandals and a chic side bag.
2. Tropic Evenings
Sometimes the best fashion can be the most simplistic.
Summer is a great time to experiment with colour. I paired bright red and white together, keeping it limited to block colours and simple accessories. It’s easy to have too much of a good thing – but be brave, be bold, and your outfit choice will pay off.
4. Tea Time Dreams
This look was inspired by a high tea I will be having in a few weeks, with my mother and sister at a ridiculously posh hotel. Summer reminds me so much of more vintage style – a return to pastel dresses, pumps and delicate jewellery. This is the kind of thing we’ll be wearing just to eat some cake.
